
On January 7 (local time), wildfires broke out in three areas of Southern California including Pacific Palisades, Eaton and Hurst. According to AP , at least 70,000 residents had to evacuate, including many Hollywood stars. Their homes were also severely damaged after the fire.

On Instagram on January 8, actress Keleigh Teller posted a photo of the Palisades streets engulfed in flames as firefighters worked to put out the flames. She urged people to remember to prepare drinking water for animals trying to escape before leaving.

According to Page Six , the Silence of the Lambs star lived in another house in the same area for 25 years before moving here. In 2021, he bought this property for $6 million.

Speaking to People , Billy Crystal said the house, which his family has lived in since 1979, holds many fond memories. “Words cannot describe the terrible devastation we are witnessing and experiencing. We grieve for all of our friends and neighbors who have lost their homes and businesses in this tragedy,” the artist added.

According to AP , the government has not yet released an estimate of the number of structures damaged, but said nearly 13,000 are under threat. Many artists are currently “waiting to know the fate” of their homes, updating the situation on social media.
On Instagram on January 8, star Jamie Lee Curtis, 64, announced that her family was safe but that her house may have been on fire. She wrote: “This is a horrible situation and I am grateful to the good people who helped everyone escape the fire.”
Actress Mandy Moore, 41, posted on her personal page that her children and pets are safe. Star Wars star Mark Hamill, 74, said he saw small fires along the roadside during the evacuation, hoping for the best for everyone.
