The tragic moment a 12-year-old girl fell into an open manhole during a flood has been captured on camera.
The child, who has still not been found, apparently mistook the open cover for a puddle during flooding which hid the depth of the hole.
The chilling footage shows the girl, dressed in school uniform, crossing a flooded road in Dias D’Avila, in the Brazilian state of Bahia, on Wednesday afternoon.
The girl, named as Amanda Max Teles da Silva is seen clutching a yellow umbrella in the clip before she suddenly disappears from sight as she falls into the open manhole. Amanda was reportedly on her way home from school when the horrific incident occurred, sparking a massive search for the youngster.
